How To Wait On God

How To Wait On God

Waiting on God can be one of the most challenging things we do as Christians. We want answers; we want direction, and we want to know what’s next.

But sometimes, God asks us to wait.

Waiting on God is not easy, but it is essential. It teaches us patience, perseverance, and trust. It reminds us that God is in control and that His timing is perfect.

When we wait on God, we are not wasting time. We are growing in our faith and becoming more like Christ. We are learning to rely on Him and to trust that He has a plan for our lives.

So if you find yourself in a season of waiting, don’t lose heart. Remember that God is with you and that He loves you. Take this time to draw closer to Him, to seek His face, and to listen for His voice.

And remember: Isaiah 40:31 GNT But those who trust in the Lord for help

    will find their strength renewed.

They will rise on wings like eagles;

    they will run and not get weary;

    they will walk and not grow weak.

People In The Bible Who Waited On God

There are many examples of people in the Bible who waited on God. Here are a few:

  • Abraham waited many years for God to fulfill His promise of a son, and eventually, God blessed him with Isaac.
  • Joseph waited years in prison before God raised him to be second in command in Egypt.
  • Moses waited 40 years in the wilderness before God called him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt.
  • David waited many years before he became king of Israel, even though Samuel had anointed him.
  • Simeon and Anna waited many years to see the Messiah, and when they finally saw Jesus, they praised God.

These are just a few examples. Waiting on God can be difficult, but it is often a time of growth and preparation. It can teach us patience, perseverance, and trust. And when we finally see God’s plan unfold, it is often more beautiful than we could have imagined.

How To Trust God While Waiting

Trusting God while waiting can be difficult, but it is possible. Here are a few things that might help:

  1. Pray. Spend time in prayer, asking God to give you peace and patience as you wait. Ask Him to help you trust in His plan, even when it’s hard.
  2. Read the Bible. The Bible is full of stories of people who waited on God, and it can be a great source of encouragement and inspiration. Try reading the Psalms, which are full of prayers of trust and faith.
  3. Stay connected to your community. Surround yourself with people who will support and encourage you as you wait. Join a Bible study or small group, or find a mentor who can help guide you.
  4. Serve others. Sometimes, the best way to take your mind off your problems is to focus on helping others. Look for ways to serve in your community or your church.
  5. Remember God’s faithfulness. Think back on times when God has been faithful to you. Remember that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
